The atmosphere of winter holidays will embrace the capital city on December 17. The Christmas Fair and the Christmas tree will be inaugurated in the Great National Assembly Square at 5pm, mayor Ion Ceban stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services and divisions, IPN reports.
The adorned trolleybuses will set off on routes, while street decorations will be turned on in all the districts of Chisinau.
On December 24, which is the eve of Christmas celebrated according to the Gregorian calendar, a Christmas carol performance will be given in the central square of Chisinau by the Ethnic-Folkloric Ensemble “Romanița”.
On January 6, at 6pm, the Ethnic-Folkloric Ensemble “Crenguța de iederă” will give a concert.
Roman Vitiuc, head of the General Division of Economy, Trade and Tourism, said the Christmas Fair in the Great National Assembly Square will involve business entities that filed relevant applications to the City Hall. These will offer for sale different decorations, handmade objects. Carousels will be set up for the children to amuse themselves.
Ion Ceban said the business entities that will provide services and will sell products in the central square will pay only the local tax and no other taxes.
