Winrock International launched a workbook within “New Perspectives for Women” Project

Winrock International launched the booklet “Art as Business”, within the project “New Perspectives for Women”. The work, which appeared thanks to the financial support of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, represents a workbook for the economic development of the arts’ industry. According to the project director, David Blood, the purpose of the project is to create opportunities for ensuring a better future to women in Moldova, especially to those aged 16-25, via integrated programmes of economic support, crises prevention, as well as through the complex network of support services. The “New Perspectives for Women” project is financed by the US Government via the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The information in this workbook is based on materials, discussions and experiences collected from artists and businessmen in the domain from 19 countries during the last 20 years. The book contains advices about how to become a successful businessman in arts, how to work out business and marketing plans etc. The workbook has three objectives: to familiarise artists with the ideas needed for a successful business activity; to provide help in collecting the necessary information for estimating the growth and offer assistance on the principles and practice of the market economy. The book will be handed out free of charge to those concerned at the offices of the OSCE Mission and Winrock International.
