Winners of National Informatics Olympics have been awarded

The Ministry of Education and Youth on Monday, April 21, awarded the winners of the National Informatics Olympics. According to Minister Larisa Savga, the competition aimed to develop the skills of students in operating the computer as well as to raise their interest in the opportunities offered by information technologies in the process of learning and gaining knowledge, Info-Prim Neo reports. The results of the competition will contribute to the informational development of the country, leading to the creation of valuable information resources for the entire society. The number of the contestants in the Olympics, including students from rural areas, has had a growing tendency each year. The prizes consisted of 24,000 lei, two laptop computers, 24 flash drives, a flat screen, and software for each contestant. The competition brought together about 250 students of the grades VII- XII. Four of them shared the first place; these are: Mihai Lazari (Informatics Senior School), Andrei Filmu and Radu Antohi (“Orizont” High) and Mircea Grecu (“Prometeu” High). The 12th National Informatics Olympics was organized by the Ministry of Education and Youth in the period April 18-20.
