Winners of “Infoinvest 2013”exhibit awarded

Three gold medals and the trophy of the World Intellectual Property Organization were handed over to the best inventors and researchers of this year in the exhibition “Infoinvest 2013” at Moldexpo on November 21, IPN reports.

A special prize was offered by the Government of Moldova, while another five prizes were given by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).

In the opening of the award ceremony, AGEPI director general Lilia Bolocan said that during three days, inventors and researchers from Romania, Moldova, Italy, Slovenia, Belarus, and China had witnessed a scientific competition of new technology. The current exhibit involved 101 scientific institutions and 25 private individuals that presented innovations in such areas as biotechnology, energy, medicine, agriculture and industrial design.

The head of the Geneva International Inventions Fair Jean-Luc Vincent said it was a great honor for him to award the medals of the World Intellectual Property Organization to the winners of “Infoinvest”.

The gold medal in the category “Remarkable Inventor” went to Victor Tapcov, of the State University of Moldova, for a series of inventions in medicine. The gold medal for the “Best women inventor” was given to Tatiana Chiriac, of the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. Ana Moldovanu, of the Academy’s Institute of Zoology, received the gold medal in the category “Best junior inventor”. The prize for the “Best invention created by young inventor” was offered to Pavel Nicolaev, of the Technical University of Moldova.

The Government’s special prize for the “Most talented inventor” was awarded to Gheorghe Anghelici, for a series of works in medicine.

The AGEPI trophy “For creativity and innovation” went to the Technical University of Moldova and the company SA Viorica Cosmetic. The prize “Invention of the year AGEPI” was given to the Technical University of Moldova. Pavel Nicolaev and Valentina Bulimaga were awarded for the “Best invention created by young inventor”. Mihai Stamate received the “Best designer” prize, while the prize “Most successful sort of plants” went to the Field Crops Research Institute “Selectia”.

“Infoinvest 2013” involved 120 institutions, 42 residents of the two scientific-technological and innovations parks of Moldova and 15 private investors.
