“Wine of Moldova” brand popular at exhibition in Dusseldorf

For the third consecutive year, the Moldovan wines managed to surprise the visitors of the world’s most professional trade fair for wine and spirits “ProWein 2016”, which was held in Dusseldorf on March 13-15. Moldova’s stand hosted the best 200 wines, cognacs and sparkling wines made by 30 national wine companies. This attracted over 2,000 visitors, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the National Office of Vine and Wine, the products were presented under the country brand “Wine of Moldova. Living legend”. “We aim our efforts at promoting the Moldovan wines abroad so as to increase exports of products with high value added,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Luca.

During the three-day event, Moldova’s stand that was 180 square meters in area was visited by more than 2,500 guests from all over the world. The visitors, including journalist, distributors and importers of wine, were met by promoters in national costumes, who offered them promotional bottles and brochures with information about the century-old winemaking traditions of Moldova.

“All those who took part in the events staged near Moldova’s stand only praised our products. I think that our participation in “ProWein” made an important contribution to strengthening the fame of the brand “Wine of Moldova” at international level. I’m sure that by our efforts we will manage to make it known all over the world,” said the director of the National Office of Vine and Wine Dumitru Munteanu.

“The participation in the largest European exhibition “ProWein 2016” is a good occasion for communicating the changes and progress made in Moldova’s wine sector to professionals from the field. These are evident through the quality of the products and the modern marketing technologies used,” said USAID Moldova projects manager Sergiu Botezatu.

This year’s exhibition “ProWein” brought together 6,200 exhibitors from 59 countries, who displayed their products to over 55,000 visitors, including numerous professionals. Moldova’s participation in the exhibition was organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine with support from the strategic development partner USAID Competitiveness Project and of the CBI Program.
