The winners of the “Chisinau Wines&Spirits Contest 2008” will be nominated on 20 February during the Wine Ball festivity, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The contest was held during February 16-17 at the Wine House, situated on the territory of the “Moldexpo” International Exhibition Centre.
204 samples of wines and spirits from 57 producing companies have been tested. Companies from Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tunisia, and other countries took part in the contest. The share of foreign samples made up 30% of the total number.
The jury was made up of tasters from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, the USA, France, Italy, Cyprus, Ireland, Georgia, Armenia and Moldova.
The organiser of the event is the Union of Oenologists of Moldova and the “Poliproject Exhibitions” company. The origin of the “Chisinau Wines&Spirits Contest” goes back to 1992.
