Twenty-four trees were downed in Chisinau by last weekend’s strong winds. There were damaged a number of electric power lines. In Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Eliferii Haruta, head of the Green Areas Association, said three teams worked to remove the fallen trees. In another development, he said that the Association’s employees already started to repair the benches in Chisinau’s recreational areas. The winds last Saturday and Sunday gusted up to 27 mps. About 50 settlements remained without electricity and were plunged into darkness.
