A wind turbine for producing electricity was launched at the Botanical Garden in Chisinau. The garden’s administration plans to save about 100,000 lei annually by using such equipment. The wind turbine has a capacity of 10 kw and will be used to light the park “Botanical Garden” and to pump water to greenhouses, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Government, attending the launch of the installation, Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Potang said that such an ecological turbine is a reason for being proud. The president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Gheorghe Duca said the project is a national accomplishment.
The project was implemented by the Technical University of Moldova in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences.
