U.S. actor Will Smith didn’t submit an application for adoption in Moldova, the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family specified following a series of press reports about an alleged adoption.
The Ministry informs that in 1994 – 2013no Moldovan child was adopted by the U.S. actor. According to the data of the Border Police Department, Will Smith and his wife didn’t cross the state border of Moldova in January 2012 – July 2013.
The foreign citizens or stateless persons residing abroad, who want to adopt a child living in Moldova, can file the application for international adoption only through the agency of foreign organizations from the accepting state, accredited and registered according to the legislation.
The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family supervises 56 children put up for international adopt. The youngest of them is four.
