The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau municipality is considering the possibility of financing the costs for organizing winter performances in kindergartens, with the participation of Santa Claus, with municipal funds as from next year, IPN reports.

In the December 4 meeting of officials of Chisinau services, Viorica Negrei, acting head of the Division, said that contradictory discussions between parents who are ready to contribute financially to the organization of matinées with Santa Claus in kindergartens and those who oppose appear each year before the winter holidays. “It is a conflict that we are trying to solve by mediation, but we do not manage to because no camp wants to concede,” noted the functionary.

According to Viorica Negrei, when the parents decide by themselves to collect money for different purposes, this is not something illegal. These performances have been lately organized by parents and the teachers do not become involved. This thing cannot be banned, but the parents cannot be obliged to provide money either. A consensus should be thus reached so that the children enjoy the shows. Identifying possibilities for covering the related costs with money from the municipal budget is the only solution.
