Today we commemorate the heroes who fought for the integrity of our country. Every time I apologize to the families of those who were killed in the conflict. I thank you for managing to temper the desires of the then merchants. The fact that Moldova celebrated 20 years of independence is due to your heroism as well,” said Mircea Snegur. The first President of Moldova stressed that the separatism in the Transnistrian region is still supported by the radical political forces of Russia.
