The participation of the whole society is needed to make sure an authentic justice sector reform is done. This reform should not be approached in a generalized way. The issue was discussed in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Jurist and spokesman for the Democratic Party Vitalie Gamurari said any reform that is initiated in the legal system meets with differing opinions in society and they try to find out whose interests are promoted by this reform. “We should understand that each stage necessitates changes and the participation of the whole society can help reach a consensus,” he stated.
Doctor of Law Alexandru Cauia, chairman of the youth organization of the Democratic Party, said the fact that particular things were done in the judicial system in 2011 - 2017 cannot be denied. “I think a generalized approach should be avoided. The perception of our people is important. When the mass media and the so-called NGOs present one position – that the justice sector reform is not done, everything is of a poor quality and the posts are being negotiated – it is normal for people who have never been to court to get an impression only,” stated Alexandru Cauia.
In a press briefing on January 30, Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase said the restructuring of the legal system will be one of the key directions of the future justice sector reform strategy for the next five years that will be adopted by Parliament.
