Who won mayoralty in eight suburban settlements of Chisinau municipality

In the runoffs held in eight suburban settlements of the municipality of Chisinau, by two seats of mayor were won by the National Alterative Movement (MAN) Party and the Party of Action and Solidarity. The Coalition for Unity and Wellbeing (CUB), the Party of Socialists (PSRM) and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) won the elections in one locality each, while in one suburban settlement, the mayoralty was won by an independent candidate, IPN reports.

According to the data presented by the Central Election Commission, MAN candidate Victor Slobozianu was elected mayor of Cricova town with 61.73% of the vote. MAN candidate Leonid Umaneț won in Bubuieci commune with 50.75% of the ballot.

In Codru town, Stelian Manic of the PAS won with 52.73% of the poll, while in Trușeni commune, Viorica Beregoi of the PAS emerged victorious with 51.14% of the vote.

CUB candidate Eleonora Şaran won the mayoralty of Durlești with 53.6% of the ballot. In Vadul lui Vodă town, PSRM candidate Iuri Onofriiciuc won with 54.04% while in Grătiești commune, the victor is PPPDA candidate Olga Caraman, who polled 78.01% of the ballot.

In Tohatin commune, independent candidate Sergiu Cebotaru won the post of mayor with 62.26% of the ballot.

In the other ten suburban settlements of the municipality of Chisinau, the mayors were elected by the first round of voting. On November 5, the PAS won the mayoral elections in three localities, the MAN – in two localities, the People’s Will Party, the Liberal Party and the Liberal Democratic Party – in one locality each. Two more seats were obtained by independents.
