Vitalie Voznoi runs for Chisinau mayor on behalf of Stânga Europeană (European Left) political party in the general local elections, while also topping the party's list of candidates running for the City Council. He is candidate number seven on the ballots. He is known as a civic activist, organizer and supporter of several protests against illegalities in Chisinau.
The candidate is 44 years old. He was born in Chisinau. He graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies, the specialty of Business Management, obtaining his diploma in 1997. The candidate mentioned in his CV that the Russian language is his mother tongue, but he speaks Romanian and English fluently.
He administers "My Dear City" Civic Initiative. In 2013, according to the CV, he "worked with people on organizational issues" under "Restabilim Chisinaul" social project. In 2014-2018, he worked to consolidate and develop the potential of urban civil society within the initiative group of the Municipal Participation Council and developed projects at city level with the Urban Civic Network.
In 2018-2019 he was one of the coordinators of the working group on legal issues for the development of regulations regarding stray animals and pets.
The candidate also states that he worked at "Komsomolskaia Pravda in Moldova" and was director of "V. Voznoi" Individual Company in the field of transportation.
Vitalie Voznoi has decided to run for mayor of the capital after being supported by several representatives of the civil society. He says that the problems of the city that he will include on his agenda as mayor are related to public transportation, the environment, public spaces and, by all means, the activity of the local administration.
For the period of January 1, 2017- December 31, 2018, the candidate declares revenues of over 14 thousand lei from didactic, scientific and creative activities. He has inherited one orchard and another one he obtained through privatization. He also ownes an apartment that he bought and co-ownes another that was privatized. He owns an inherited garage. He owns three cars, two bought and one inherited. He has about $ 200 on his bank account.
