The new Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu is an expert in the fields of gas and energy. His international professional experience exceeds 16 years, IPN reports.

Dorin Junghietu is an expert in oil, gas and energy. He has been involved in multiple activities of coordination, delivery, construction and commissioning of major projects. He has also been involved in the exploration, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons and energy for globally recognized clients.

He has experience of work in oil and energy companies, such as Lukoil in Romania, companies in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Turkey.

Dorin Junghietu studied abroad and has bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering.

Last autumn, he won the contest for the position of chairman of the Board of Directors of Moldovagaz, but since then the Russian company Gazprom has not approved the appointment of Dorin Junghietu.

The position of minister of energy fell vacant on December 5, 2024, when Victor Parlicov was dismissed. Since then, the post was held on an interim basis by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
