The religious significance of this week is that it is not as strict as Lent. “There are moments when we have more daily concerns. Lent is the longest fasting season of the year when dairy and meat are not allowed. On the Annunciation (April 7) and on Palm Sunday (one week Before Easter), those who fast are allowed to eat fish.
