The leader of the Democratic Party Pavel Filip said that an evident scenario was witnessed today. Andrian Candu’s call was only uttered and former colleagues swiftly said that they will join in. Those who left the PDM pleaded the most for the formation of a coalition with the Party of Socialists. That’s why he cannot think that the four left because of ideological reasons, IPN reports.
“The Democratic Party entered the government because of the feeling of responsibility. It entered the government in order to help the country in these difficult moments and our citizens. Those who now try to push the country towards a political crisis should realize and should assume the consequences. Besides the pandemic crisis - the economic crisis, the financial crisis – can you image experiencing also a political crisis? The country remains without a Government. I don’t think these people think now about our citizens,” Pavel Filip stated in a news conference on May 8.
According to him, those who now want so much snap parliamentary elections should remember that they lost the elections in the municipality of Chisinau and the elections in Hâncești constituency. “What has happened recently is an unprecedented attack on the PDM. We must all realize that very great machinery is put into operation,” stated Pavel Filip.
Four MPs of the Democratic Party on May 8 announced their decision to leave the parliamentary group and the party. These are Violeta Ivanov, Vladimir Vitiuc, Elena Bacalu and Oleg Sîrbu. Three of them, except Sîrbu, said they will join the parliamentary group Pro Moldova. Andrian Candu, Sergiu Sîrbu, Vladimir Cebotari, Eleonora Graur, Corneliu Padnevici, Grigore Repeșciuc, Gheorghe Brașovschi și Ruxanda Glavan left the PDM earlier. Pro Moldova leader Andrian Candu today made a public call, suggesting forming an anti-government bloc.
