“We will put matters right in the country”- is the campaign slogan of the United Moldova Party. “The party aims to put things in order in all the main areas of activity,” said the party's leader Vladimir Turcan, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Order does not mean managing the police and thus maintaining order,” Vladimir Turcan stressed. The party's priorities include returning home the Moldovans working abroad, monitoring of the formation of gas, electricity and water charges, establishment of better interethnic relations. The United Moldova Party also wants to organize a referendum on giving the status of official language to Russian. “We will combat the unionist and chauvinist ideas used by certain political parties,” Vladimir Turcan said. He ruled out the possibility of a coalition with the Communists Party as, according to him, the PCRM, in the person of Vladimir Voronin, is a destabilizing factor in society owing to its political stubbornness.
