We will come to Parliament with 20,000 people, Communist MP

The Communist Party (PCRM) will come to the March 16 sitting of Parliament with about 20,000 people who are indignant at the usurpation of power by the ruling alliance, Communist lawmaker Sergiu Sarbu has told Info-Prim Neo. This way, the MP answered the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu’s invitation, who said the opposition should come to Parliament as the voters voted for the party to work in the legislature, not in the Great National Assembly Square. Sergiu Sarbu replied that the people voted for a legitimate Parliament that would promote the people’s interests, not for a usurping legislative body. He said that the opposition will take part in the special sitting where the head of state is to be elected if the Communists are allowed to enter with the 20,000 people who came to the protests. “We will vote by other methods,” said the lawmaker. The PCRM already informed the Constitutional Court about the illegality of the coming elections. “If the elections are validated, we will continue to stage peaceful protests until the usurpers resign voluntarily,” said Sergiu Sarbu. Nicolae Timofti is the ruling alliance’s candidate for the presidency. His name was made public by the leaders of the alliance in a news conference on Monday.
