Moldova is turning the corner as concerns the implementation of the EU-Moldova Action Plan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), Andrei Stratan, stated Thursday February 22, two years after the Plan was signed. The head of Moldovan diplomacy said that a great part of this political document has been implemented by Moldovan authorities, while for the other tasks, mentioned in the report of the European Commission are on the agenda of the Government and MFAEI. Their tasks are exposed in detail in the terms of references worked out at the indication of President Vladimir Voronin for each minister. The Minister also stated that parallel with the achievements, the year of 2006 also pointed out the problems that emerged in different sectors, compartments, segments of the action plan, including those to which no solution was found. For the most part, these difficulties are related to the implementation of the reforms and passed laws, which in turn depend on the existent administrative and human capacities. Among the primary directions for this year, the head of Moldovan diplomacy mentioned the further diversification of the political dialogue with the EU member states and institutions, the obtaining of autonomous commercial preferences, prolongation of the mandate for ensuring the EUBAM activity etc. The EU-Moldova Action Plan was signed on February 22, 2005, and aims at a three-year period.
