We hope Communists’ concerns are not political show, PLDM

The parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) approves of the fact that the opposition is also concerned about the share thefts at banks. “We hope that the Communists’ request to call a parliamentary sitting where to question representatives of institutions responsible in the case of the raider attacks on the banking system is aimed at constructively contributing to the elucidation of the case and is not an element of a show at the start of the political season,” the group’s leader Valeriu Strelet said in a press briefing, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “The Communists’ demand to dismiss the Parliament’s administration is an element of political show. I do not want to believe that the Communist lawmakers want to return to the political arena by a show. If they file an application with authentic signatures, we will only have to comply,” said Valeriu Strelet. He also said that the PLDM is still concerned about the situation of the banks and demands holding a special sitting of the legislature in order to elucidate the case and identify the persons to blame for the created situation. “Despite some political players’ attempts to disseminate panic over this case, the banking system was not affected by the dealings in shares,” stated Valeriu Strelet. According to him, they do not intend to replace the legal procedures by parliamentary hearings, but there is evidence that those who were to take action did not appropriately fulfill their duties and are to present reports during hearings. On September 9, the Parliament’s Standing Bureau unanimously rejected the Communist Party’s application to call a special sitting of the legislative body, arguing there was an insufficient number of signatures. As a result, the PCRM demanded that the legislature’s administration be discharged.
