Water supplier sanctions debtors
Five apartment blocks in Chisinau under the management of a dwelling cooperative are at risk of remaining without water next week. “Apă Canal Chişinău” JSC (ACC) intends to disconnect them from the water supply system because cooperative’s payments for this service do not exceed 15% of the supplied volume.
Head of Subscribers Service from ACC, Mihai Golban says that the debts of the cooperatives amount to MDL 400 000. This situation occurred because the residents do not pay for the water and sewerage services directly to the water supplier but they transfer the money on cooperative’s account. As Mihai Golban says, in light of the fact that 10–15 % of payments are transferred to enterprise’s account, other cooperatives and associations are discriminated, and the blocks under their management risk remaining without water as well. Residents of that blocks and management councils must clarify where the money was spent and why the payments did not reach “Apă Canal”, head of Subscribers Service added.
People in charge from “Apă Canal Chisinau” assert that the enterprise requested from the dwelling fund’s managers to present the list of debtors who did not pay off the services for several years. ACC is willing to provide juridical support, if they do not have jurists.
Both heat supplier and “Apă Canal Chişinău” ask the court’s help to recoup their debts. The court has already issued several hundreds of warrants, meaning that a series of debtors are to remain without material goods.
