Water supplier of Chisinau continues to fix problems in water supply and sewerage system

The Central Dispatcher’s Service of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) in October recorded over 1,000 calls concerning accidents in water pipes and another over 1,000 calls over accidents in sewer pipes. In all the cases, the company’s response teams acted promptly to fix the problems, IPN reports.

In a press release, ACC says 2,393 accident situations in water pipes, 1,288 of which leakages, and 1,019 accidents in sewer pipes, including 405 blockages, were recorded in the period.

The company’s teams additionally carried out works to continuously improve the water supply services, replacing water pipes with a length of up to 5 m in 105 cases and longer pipes with the diameter of 25 to 800 mm in 17 cases. A street aqueduct was replaced. There were also repaired 332 wolves, 15 manholes and five hydrants.

The representatives of “Apa-Canal Chisinau” were also informed about 20 cases of stealing or absence of manhole lids on sidewalks, in parks and in areas between apartment buildings. Each report was verified and new lids were placed where these were absent so as to prevent road accidents and traumas.

According to the ACC, the technical-economic indicators show the water losses in the process of dealing with accidents have slightly diminished owing to the swift response of the workers in charge.
