The filthy water in springs and wells as a result of the recent heavy rain can cause acute diarrheic diseases. Therefore, the Public Health Center of Chisinau municipality does not recommend drinking water from springs and wells, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Public Health Center, it is recommended drinking water from centralized sources or bottled water. If there are no alternative sources of water, one should boil and filter the water from wells or springs.

The flooded wells must be cleaned and the filtering devices and equipment must be repaired. After every cleaning and repair works, the water installations must be obligatorily disinfected and then washed.

Doctors recommend seeing the family doctor at the first symptoms of sickness and avoid self-treatment in domestic conditions.
