Water consumption debts to ACC is about 276 million lei

The consumers’ debts to “Apa-Canal Chisinau” JSC (ACC) totaled, at the end of July, about 276.11 million lei, or by 20 million lei more compared with the end of last year. The head of the Customers Relations Department within ACC, Mihai Golban, reported that the majority of debts account for the domestic consumers – over 154 million lei, or by 10 million more than 7 months ago. Companies have a debt to the enterprise for the consumed water of over 116 million lei, increasing by over 3 million. Of them, the energy sector has to pay to ACC approximately 78 million lei, SA „Moldcarton” – about 23.5 million lei. The public institutions have a debt to the Chisinau water supplier of about 5.5 million lei, of them 2.4 million – financed from the state budget. Golban highlighted that the majority of debts of the population is the volume difference of the apartment counters and those of the blocks, which at the moment is about 112.5 million lei. According to him, the solution is to install better counters, and respect technical conditions when installing them etc. He noted that the payment level of the consumption by the population is now 98-99%. The biggest water user is the population, consuming 73.2% of the total volume, followed by companies – 14.1% and public institutions – 5.2%.
