Members of a coalition called “Civic Control – Elections 2009” are indignant at the attack on a crew of Omega news agency at a meeting of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Info-Prim Neo reports. “The coalition is certain the PLDM should apologize to journalists, thus proving its attachment for the democratic values in the electoral platform of the party,” said coalition's executive Alexandru Barbov at a news conference. “We wonder why the Journalists Union (UJM) has not reacted to this case,” he said. Valeriu Saharneanu, the UJM's president, has told Info-Prim Neo the Union condemned the attack on the journalist and took notice of the PLDM's reaction. “We have the impression the incident was provoked. The news agency should have expressed the PLDM's view, expressed a day after, but it went further making generalizations.” On March 27, the UJM is going to make a statement on this case. The PLDM has ousted the aggressor from its list for the parliament and apologized for the incident. A fifth report of the coalition reads that the Moldova Noastra Alliance uses methods lacking fairness in electioneering. Barbov mentioned people with the AMN's signs on them having sold cheap products in a village near Chisinau. Alexandru Sabadas, a member of the NGOs coalition, said a vendor tried to physically abuse a member of the coalition when the latter asked for documents certifying the right to sell those goods. When asked by Info-Prim Neo, Victor Osipov, the AMN's spokesman, declined the charges. “I don't see any violation in AMN supporters wearing yellow jackets. It's simply a squeezed-out accusation, as there aren't others,” Osipov opined. The NGOs Coalition “Civic Control – Elections 2009” reiterated its previous appreciation for the democratic and pluralist character of the electoral debates held on Moldovan televisions.
