The wastewater treatment station in Durlesti town will stop working on November 26 at 11am. According to the director general of SA Apa-Canal Chisinau Constantin Becciev, the station is old and no more functional, Info-Prim Neo reports. In Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, Constantin Becciev said the wastewater treatment station in Durlesti was built in the 1970s. It has treated wastewater through the agency of biological lakes located near the housing stock of the town. SA Apa-Canal Chisinau, in cooperation with the Chisinauproiect Institute and the Municipal Ecological Fund, will put in commission a pumping station with two sewage disposal units that will allow taking the wastewater from Durlesti to the Chisinau wastewater treatment station that has a larger capacity. This way, the number of Durlesti residents connected to the piping system will increase and the ecological state in the town and near the Danceni Lake will improve, it is said in a communiqué issued by SA Apa-Canal Chisinau. Similar measures will be taken in Bubueci village of Chisinau municipality. The local wastewater treatment station will start to be reconstructed in the first half of 2011. There will be build a sewer pipe of over 10 kilometers. The cost of the project is about 9 million lei. The money will be provided by the International Finance Corporation, which signed a lending agreement with the Chisinau City Hall.
