Waste recycling plant to be built in Edinet

The Edinet mayor's office launched a public-private partnership project called ECO Verde. The project to erect a plant for recycling organic waste, transforming it into solid fuel and obtaining organic compost and for recycling non-organic waste will be implemented in 2011, Info-Prim Neo reports. Tudor Copaci, head of the Economy Ministry's Public Property Agency, said the Edinet district council is now taking steps to change the purpose of the plot of 4 hectares on which the plant will be built and is preparing the documents needed to announce a tender contest to select the private partner. According to Tudor Copaci, a number of local public authorities commenced lately public-private partnership projects to solve social problems like the construction of dwellings or of infrastructure facilities. “Within this project, it is important to correctly carry out the feasibility studies, define the obligations of the partners and balance the risks and benefits,” Copaci said.
