The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection provided clarification for citizens willing to go to work in the construction sector in Israel. More specifically, the institution announces that the 29th round of implementation of the Moldovan-Israeli construction sector agreement, planned for December 2023, is temporarily postponed, IPN reports.
According to the bilateral agreement signed between the Republic of Moldova and the State of Israel, citizens of the Republic of Moldova can go to work in the State of Israel in the construction sector only through the National Employment Agency.
“Employment in the construction sector through private agencies or as a result of direct recruitment by companies in Israel is illegal and contrary to the provisions of the mentioned agreement,” noted the Ministry.
The National Employment Agency will inform about the resumption of the implementation round.
Earlier, international press reported that Israel plans to bring in up to 70,000 foreign workers from China, India, Sri Lanka and Moldova to strengthen its construction sector, as about 80,000 Palestinian workers have been banned access to Israel since the war began on October 7, 2023.
