Warning against travelling to Greece updated

In connection with the warning against travelling to/through Greece given the protests staged by local farmers there, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration informs that a customs post on the border with Bulgaria was blocked. The Promaсhonas customs post was also blocked by Bulgarian carriers following the protests mounted by farmers, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Ministry, a huge line of trucks, of about 25-35 km, was formed on the Greek side. The National Association of Road Carriers of Bulgaria threatens to block all the checkpoints located on the border between Bulgaria and Greece.

Thus, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who intend to travel to Greece are urged to avoid the checkpoints on the Bulgarian-Greek border and to use those situated on the border with Macedonia. The customs post Kipi at the border with Turkey is opened only to passenger busses and motor vehicles.

A number of public roads, highways and regions continue to be blocked in Greece.
