Veterans from Orhei, who are members of the National Union of Independence War Veterans, call on the voters from Orhei not to vote Ilan Shor mayor of the town because this does not need the mayoralty, but only wants to escape imprisonment.

Valeriu Cerba, who is a member of the Union’s National Council, in a news conference at IPN said the war veterans from Orhei possess information about acts of corrupting the voters committed by Ilan Shor’s team and do not understand why the law enforcement bodies do not take measures. “Ilan Shor robbed Moldova of billions of lei. It wasn’t a bank robbery, but an attack on Moldova’s safety. They do not want this country to have a future. They only want to rob us and to impoverish the country. Many persons who are disappointed with the current government become victim of these racketeers,” stated Valeriu Cerba.

The veteran called on the electors to vote for the candidate who knows their problems, not for thieves who are trying to buy their confidence. “Form a banal thief, Shor hopes to become a political person and to escape punishment. Being an offender, he cannot be a good mayor,” added Cerba.

The chairman of the Orhei Local Union of the National Union of Independence War Veterans Andrei Calcea said he possesses evidence that Ilan Shor distributed soap and detergents to invalids and pensioners in Orhei, while the Russian Theoretical Lyceum “M. Lomonosov” received 200,000 lei in assistance from the football team Milsami (that is owned by Ilan Shor). “Because of Shor, our pockets are empty. I call on the war veterans to vote correctly, to vote for locals. The foreigners must not manage our town,” he stated.

War veteran Victor Andritski said that Orhei became the center of political struggles, but the law enforcement bodies do not become involved. “It’s hard to imagine that Ilan Shor needs Orhei now after neglecting it for five years. He promised by one salary to doctors of the Perinatal Center when these go on leave and offered by 30,000 lei to the victims whose apartments were destroyed in an explosion. The law enforcement bodies and the authorities do nothing. It means that they act in collusion,” he stated.

The veteran also said that many of the residents of Orhei sympathize with Ilan Shor because they were deceived. He called upon the 11 candidates for the mayoralty of the town to withdraw from the electoral race in favor of one local candidate so as not to disperse the votes and to leave fewer chances to Ilan Shor. Otherwise, this will win the elections.
