War veterans answered Prime Minister’s call to support European integration

A group of war veterans who fought in Afghanistan and on the Nistru River to defend Moldovan independence and territorial integrity have answered Prime Minister Pavel Filip’s call for solidarity in support of the European integration project, IPN learned from a press release of the government.

In a letter to the PM, the veterans express their confidence that the government’s action plan, based on the EU Association Agreement, will develop the country and create decent living conditions for the people.

“We, those who have been through war, know the price of peace. That’s why we think that only with peace, solidarity and stability we can forge together an European future for ourselves. We may have different opinions, but we have a country for which we fought and we want it to be a flourishing one, among the other European nations”, reads the veterans’ message.

The letter was signed by the “Saint George the Triumphant” Union of Veterans, the Federation of Veterans and Reserve Forces of Moldova, the Association “Loyalty to the Motherland” and the Union of Veterans from Afghanistan.

On August 4, Prime Minister Pavel Filip launched a public call urging the whole society, all political forces and every citizen to support and actively participate in the construction of European Moldova.
