Voxtel implements mobile TV service

“Voxtel” customers will be able to watch television programmes, starting on Wednesday, April 25, after the mobile operator got the Broadcasting Coordination Council’s go-ahead on Tuesday, April 24. Initially, cell phone users will be able to watch four channels: Muz-TV Moldova, National TV, Senso TV and UTV (from Romania). In time, “Voxtel” plans to diversify and increase the number of the available channels. Igor Andries, the head of the Legal Department of the company, said that this service will to contribute to ensuring the right of the citizens to information. Voxtel’s goal is to make Moldovans feel that the European standards are implemented in their country too. According to the company’s representatives, an estimate 38-40% of mobile phones are currently able to support this service, with more such phones available in the company’s stock. At first, this service will be free of charge, as part of an advertising campaign.
