Voters will be identified with barcode readers in round 2 of the elections

Bar code readers for identifying voters will also be used in the second round of the general local elections on November 3, IPN reports.

According to a press release from the Central Election Commission, the pilot project on identifying voters through barcode readers, initiated by the Central Election Commission, was tested on October 20, during the first round of the general local elections.

"The project will be implemented at the same polling stations (no. 1-70) in Botanica sector, Chisinau municipality. It has proven its efficiency by reducing the time required to identify the voter in the "Polls Attendance" application, the CEC press release states.

The second round of general local elections will be held in 380 settlements of the country.
