The persons older than 50 were the most active category of voters, according to the report on the final results of the November 30 parliamentary elections, which was approved by the Central Election Commission on December 5. 53.46% of the voters were women, while 46.54% were men, IPN reports.
By age categories, the situation is as follows: 46.72% of those who voted were older than 50 on the election day, 24.47% were aged between 35 and 50, 24.54% were aged between 21 and 35, while 4.28% were aged between 18 and 21.
As many as 73,311 Moldovans voted abroad. A number of 9,261 people cast their ballots at the poling places opened for the Moldovans living in Transnistria, the municipality of Balti and in some settlements of Causeni district.
The voter turnout was 57.28% of those written on the electoral register, which is 1,649,402 people.
