Voters' lists to be compiled until July 3
Local authorities shall compile electoral rolls for each constituency until July 3, and after a check, shall be forwarded in digitized version to the Central Election Commission (CEC) until July 6, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Instructions concerning the procedures of compiling the rolls were given by the CEC at its sitting on June 9 as part of the preparations for early parliamentary elections to be held presumably in August.
CEC chair Eugen Stirbu said particular attention must be paid to those who would reach legal age by election day so that they are included in the lists. Stirbu also demanded that deceased voters be excluded from the rolls.
After compilation the lists shall be made public by the mayoral administrations.
The results of the parliamentary elections held on April 5 were strongly contested by the opposition parties, the inaccurate compilation of the voter rolls being one of their major claims.
