Voters from abroad decide fate of four seats of MP
Most of the 65,200 votes cast abroad, which decide the fate of four seats of MP, are for the PLDM, PL, PDM, and PCRM, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the preliminary results presented by the Central Election Commission, 31,975 Moldovans abroad voted for the PLDM, 16,299 – for the PL, 5,693 – for the PDM, while 4,351 for the PCRM.
Most of the Moldovans abroad voted in Italy – 28,285. As many as 4,330 persons voted in Russia and by over 2,000 persons in Spain, the U.S., Greece and France.
A number of 136,000 ballots have been sent abroad. The polling places in Bologna, Padova, Paris and Moscow were short of ballots and 919 persons voted on A4 sheets. The Constitutional Court is to decide on the validity of these votes.
With 95.4% of the votes counted, the PCRM is in the lead with 40.5% of the vote and might hold 44 seats of MP. It is followed by the PLDM with 28.7% of the poll and, respectively, 31 seats. The PDM comes third with 12.9% of the vote and 15 seats. The fourth party that entered Parliament – the PL – gained 9.3% of the ballot and 11 seats of MP.
