More than 317,000 Moldovan voters cast their ballots by 10am. This is over 11% of citizens eligible to vote. The data are provided online by the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.
The voter turnout in the country is at over 10%, which is more than 286,000 citizens voted.
The ratio of female voters to male voters is comparable - 51.79% : 48.21%. The voters aged between 56 and 70 are the most active ones (about 45%), being followed by those who are aged between 41 and 55 (approximately 22%), those older than 71 (about 15%) and those aged between 26 and 40 (about 14%). The people aged between 18 and 25 constituted only nearly 4%.
Over 3 million electors are expected to go to the polls. For the elections to be validated, the turnout should be at least 1/3 of the voters. Polling stations are open between 7am and 9pm.
