More than 600,000 people voted in the parliamentary elections in Moldova by midday. This is over 21% of the voters put on the electoral registers. The data were provided online by the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.
The ratio of the voting women to men is comparable : 51% to 49%. The voters aged between 56 and 70 are the most active ones. These are followed by those aged between 41 and 55.
In the parliamentary elections of November 30, 2014, the voter turnout at 12:30pm was 20.98% of the electors or 587,000 people.
Polling places work between 7am and 9pm.
There is no minimum voter turnout for the elections to be validated. The referendum will be validated if the turnout is minimum one third of the voters.
