Voter turnout at midday similar to that in February 2019

More than 617,000 Moldovan voters cast their ballots by 12 noon. This is over 21% of the citizens eligible to vote. The figures are comparable to the turnout at the parliamentary elections of February 2019, IPN reports.

The nationwide voter turnout stands at over 19%, which is more than 548,000 citizens voted.

The ratio of female voters to male voters is 53%: 47%. The voters aged between 56 and 70 are the most active ones (about 41.7%), being followed by those who are aged between 41 and 55 (approximately 22.8%), those aged between 26 and 40 (nearly 17%) and those older than 71 (13.7%). The people aged between 18 and 25 remain the least active ones – 4.7%.

Over 3 million electors are expected to go to the polls. For the elections to be validated, the turnout should be at least 1/3 of the voters. Polling stations are open between 7am and 9pm.
