Vote of no confidence given to Chisinau Transport Division head
The Chisinau Municipal Council Thursday gave a vote of no confidence to the head of the Chisinau General Public Transport and Communications Division Adrian Boldurescu. The proposal was submitted by the Communist councilors, who said that the works executed within the street repair project “Genesis” were of a poor quality and there was laundered money. The Communists’ proposal was accepted by 26 votes for, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A number of 23 members of the Communist faction, two Socialist councilors and unaffiliated councilman Teo Carnat voted in favor of giving a vote of no confidence to the Transport Division head.
“The project “Genesis” does not exist. It is actually a massive fraud of 162 million lei, several roads rehabilitated not according to standards and money laundering,” said Communist councilor Victor Gurau.
The Communists suggested making an analysis to see how the streets were repaired and how the Division works. Afterward, the major of Chisinau should decide whether to dismiss Adrian Boldurescu or not.
Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said that 160 million lei was spent on repairing 11 streets in Chisinau, by one street more than initially planned. “I’m ready to serve time in prison for the roads repaired this year. I will thus be able to rest a little. But I don’t think that this hysteria will somehow change the Chisinau residents’ opinion on the repair of the roads this year, which is already clear,” he stated.
The streets started to be repaired last summer. Among them are Mihai Viteazul, Petricani, Vadul lui Voda, Grigore Vieru, Tudor Strisca, Dacia (intersection with Gradina Botanica St), the intersection of the streets Ismail – Varnita – Calea Basarabiei – Calea Mosilor, and the intersection of the streets Burebista – Muncesti.
