Voronin urges AIE to quit, warns of social explosion
The Communist Party leader Vladimir Voronin urged the Alliance for European Integration to resign unless it wanted to see a “social explosion” occur,Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The Government must admit its ideological, organizational and managerial failure and move to opposition, offering our team the chance to rebuild Moldova after two years of robbing its economy and statehood”, Voronin told a Press Club meeting on Friday, March 25, .
Among the current government’s failures, Voronin named the dramatic drop of the country’s administration level. “The level of government is declining daily. They generate scandal after scandal, without offering any positive projects, any optimistic news. The economic downfall, the rise in prices, social repressions, all these are not just a temporary situation, but their model of development, which they intend to carry on forever. Nobody’s thinking how to reduce prices, to extend the spheres of investments, to help the people who are in the middle of a disaster”, stated the PCRM leader.
Voronin blasted the Government actions towards the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. He claims such decisions lead towards the disintegration of the country. “The latest gas deal, the agreement regarding the sharing of gas debts, is a step towards Moldova’s collapse and the official recognition of Transnistria. The new national security strategy, based on the idea of confrontation with Transnistria is another challenge of destruction”, he added.
Voronin labeled the situation as “explosive”. “People find it harder and harder to continue, while the Government shouts about victories. Real problems, like foreign debt, creation of jobs, healthcare and life quality improvement are getting more and more difficult to solve. It’s too dangerous to continue hiding the real situation. It’s a sign for you, journalists, as well. Otherwise, the social explosion can be so powerful that even the opposition, the Communist Party, won’t be able to control it”, warned the Communist leader.
