The chairman of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin repeatedly asked Head of Parliament Marian Lupu to initiate the procedure for dissolving the legislative body so that the date of the early parliamentary elections could be set, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The current situation in Parliament, the blockage and the chaos that prevail there confirm that it lost its legitimacy and any attempt to return to the election of the head of state will represent flagrant defiance of the Constitution,” said Vladimir Voronin. He also said that his previous demand remained without an answer and he thus decided to make a new approach in this respect, in the names of the tens of thousand protesters all over the country. On January 26, the Communist leader sent an open letter to the Speaker, asking that all the legal measures should be taken to initiate the procedure for dissolving the 19th legislature as the election of the President of Moldova failed.
