The “Good Deeds Day” is held in Moldova on April 11. This is the sixth time that the Republican Volunteer Center joins in the worldwide movement “Good Deeds Day” that unites people from over 108 countries, IPN reports.
Irina Gheorghelaș, manager of the project implemented in Moldova, said that over 7,300 volunteers have taken part in this event since 2016, within 355 volunteering activities, in 37 localities of Moldova.
The volunteering activities must meet the needs of society and/or of the city. For example, on this day the volunteers can clean parks or plant trees, can offer assistance at animal shelters, can collect and distribute parcels with food products to persons in need, can offer humanitarian and social assistance in connection with COVID-19, stated Irina Gheorghelaș.
The persons who want to register can do it on www.rvc.md until March 28. Commercial, noncommercial organizations that want to stage volunteering activities can apply through the same website until March 21.
Good Deeds Day was initiated in 2007 by businesswoman and philanthropist, Shari Arison, and launched and organized by Ruach Tova (NGO), a part of The Ted Arison Family Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Arison Group.
