A voluntary blood donation event is staged nationwide on March 1. Persons older than 18 are expected to donate blood in the municipalities of Chisinau, Balti, Cahul and Comrat with the identification papers starting at 8am, IPN reports.

In the municipality of Chisinau, the donors can go to the National Blood Transfusion Center located at 11 Academiei 11 St, between 8am and 3pm, and at the commercial complex Jumbo situated at 23/1 Decebal Blvd, between 10am and 4pm.

In Balti, collection points were opened at the National Blood Transfusion Center at 113 Decebal St, which work between 8am and 3pm, and at the State University “Alecu Russo” at 38 Pushkin St, which work between 10am and 4pm.

In Cahul, donors can donate blood at the National Blood Transfusion Center at 103/2 Alexei Mateevici St, between 8am and 3pm, while in Comrat at the blood transfusion division of the Comrat District Hospital situated at 2 Odesa St, between 8am and 2 pm.

In 2017, the voluntary blood donations represented 86.2% of all the donations.
