Volunteer’s Day celebrated at the Palace of the Republic

Representatives of civil society’s organizations have celebrated, on Saturday, the Volunteer’s Day at the Palace of the Republic. Some volunteers are NGO members, others represent public institutions, Antonita Fonari, secretary general of the National Council of NGOs has told Info-Prim Neo. “To do volunteer work doesn’t mean to work for nothing, but it means to work without getting paid. It also means a lot of opportunities you can’t obtain even with money, unless you volunteer, you contact with people, you communicate, learn, travel”, she said. Ecaterian Ciobanu has been a volunteer for the Elder People’s Association “Vdohnovlenie” from Comrat for already 3 years. “It’s important for people of our age to help other grandparents who have to take care of kids because latter’s parents are abroad”, she said. This is the eighth time the Volunteer’s Day is celebrated in Moldova. According to the National Council of NGOs, there are about 8,000 NGOs in Moldova.
