Several state and municipal institutions and even private companies went to clean Valea Morilor Park in Chisinau, on Saturday, May 12. Volunteers were gathered by the organizers of Hai, Moldova! project, Info-Prim Neo reports. The equipment was provided by the City Hall and several companies. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca participated as well. He said stressed the City Hall’s contribution: it provided tractors with trailers, technical equipment and even manpower. “Workers of all 23 municipal enterprises and all other service providers went cleaning in the city. For me, it’s a day off because I combine usefulness with pleasure: I went outdoors and I help cutting the cane in the lake”, said the mayor. Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta came to clean Valea Morilor with his family. The official said that 1,400 National Army troops were deployed to differebt areas to help the locals with the cleanup. Hai, Moldova! is a social and environmental initiative aimed at cleaning green areas throughout the country in one day, on May 12.
