The index of the volume of industrial goods produced by industrial enterprises of all kinds of Moldova was, in January-May, 93.1%, and in May – 88.5% compared to the same period of 2005. This year the produced goods were of 7872,52 million lei in current prices. According to the National Bureau of Statistics of RM, the decrease of the volume of industrial production within this period was due to reduction of the volume of production of certain enterprises. The highest reduction was registered by the wine enterprises – 38%, and production of distilled alcoholic drinks - 17%. Clothes production reduced by 5%, oils and fats – by 12%, tobacco goods – by 21%, machines and equipment – by 14%, sugar goods, cacao, chocolate – by 4%. At the same time, fruit and vegetables processing and canning decreased by 7%. In whole, the enterprises of food industry and drinks decreased the production by 18%, and polygraphs and printing production – by 10%. At the same time, the volume of leather tanning production increased by 86%, by 77% - medical tools and equipment, by 74% - stone cutting, processing and finishing, by 43% - cement, lime and plaster production, by 28% - carpet production, with 21% - bricks and tile production, etc. yet these did not fully alleviate the decrease of general production.
