The freight transportation services in all the sectors have increased in volume, while the number of passengers transported reached the last year’s level only in the motor transportation sector, IPN reports.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the railway, motor, fluvial and air carriers in January – July transported by 15% more goods than in the corresponding period last year. There were conveyed mainly grains and bakery products, ferrous metals and scarp iron, building materials and cement.
More than 66 million people were transported by buses and minibuses in the period, which is practically the same level as last year.
The number of passengers transported by trains in the first half of this year increased by over 6% compared with the same period last year. The number of passengers transported by fluvial transport was by over 1% lower on last year, while by planes – by over 13% lower.
