Vocea Basarabiei radio journalists wassail Broadcasting Council

Journalists from Vocea Basarabiei radio wassail the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) on Wednesday. But, no BCC member got out to listen to the journalists' carols, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Valeriu Saharneanu, a co-founder of the radio station, the journalists wished the BCC members to observe the Broadcasting Code and their own statute. And to be an independent institution first, to work in the interest of the public and local broadcasters. “Now the BCC hampers the development of the Moldovan media. We want sure, qualitative coverage all over the country. The Code and the status obliges them to create such conditions, actually. They have but to get out of the political control and work according to the status,” said Valeriu Saharneanu. The journalists say the office was open, but the chairman and members were not in. Some employees refused to get out an listen to the good wishes. The journalists from Vocea Basarabiei were backed by members and supporters of the Liberal Party (PL), Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN).
